FAITH PROMISE
WHAT IS FAITH PROMISE?
Faith Promise is the way in which we financially support the missions we have chosen to partnership with outside of our immediate community. We promise to give an amount to missions, and we have faith that God will provide. This is giving above and beyond normal tithes and offerings.
HOW DOES FAITH PROMISE WORK?
Once a year, members of our church can anonymously promise to give an amount of money to our missions out of faith that God will provide. It may be a one time gift or a recurring gift, and the amount is between each person and God. These promises are tallied during a special service (Faith Promise Sunday), and the total is our working missions budget for the Faith Promise year, which starts April 1st.
HOW DO I MAKE A FAITH PROMISE?
In the weeks leading up to Faith Promise Sunday, we encourage people to pray about what they should give. Once they have a number, they write it down on a card the church provides that includes information about the amount being promised and if the gift is recurring. This card is then either put in the offering trays before Faith Promise Sunday, or collected during the special service on Faith Promise Sunday. As for giving money itself, checks should be marked for "Faith Promise" or "Missions," cash should be in an envelope marked the same, and online gifts should be given to the "Missions (Faith Promise)" fund.
WHAT IF I CAN'T KEEP MY PROMISE?
This is not a pledge made to the church, but to God. If you can't keep the promise for whatever reason, we encourage you to take it to God in prayer. All promises collected are anonymous, so the church won't be sending out any reminders to you personally.
HOW LONG HAS MPFCC USED FAITH PROMISE?
MPFCC started using the Faith Promise program in 1970. Since then, God has used this church to give over $1,000,000 to missions across the country and around the world!
